Cars in the Park (formally Antique Autos in History Park) The largest annual antique & classic auto show in the West "A Living History Day" Information you need to know: The date is Saturday, September 14, 2024. The show starts at 11:00 AM and closes at 4:00 PM and is located at History Park (693 Phelan Ave, San José, CA 95112). To see a map of the area, click on this link. Vehicles and early-day gas engine exhibitors should arrive between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Craft and collectible exhibitors should arrive between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Vehicles newer than 1949 or not period-correct are not permitted on History Park grounds between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM Requirements for entering an antique vehicle: There is no registration nor fee required. Just drive or trailer your period-correct through 1949 vehicle to the History Park gate (693 Phelan Ave, San José, CA 95112). A gate attendant will direct you from there. Free trailer parking is provided (pick up a parking pass at the History Park gate). Late arrivals and early departures: The SCVMTFC and HSJ request that all vehicles be on display for the full 5 hours (11:00 AM to 4:00 PM). The San José Police Department will not allow vehicles to enter History Park after 11:00 AM. They will not allow modern vehicles to re-enter the Park until after 4:00 PM. If a vehicle exits before 4:00 PM the San José Police Department and History San José require the vehicle to exit the North gate (near the Museum of the Boat People & the Republic of Vietnam). An event staff person can direct you to the exit gate. Parking: All participants who drive a modern vehicle or vehicle with a trailer receive free parking. Modern vehicles and vehicles with a trailer need to stop at the entrance to History Park (693 Phelan Ave. S.J. 95112) and pick up a parking pass. With the pass, you may proceed to the city parking lot at the East end of Phelan Ave. Trailers should park in the spaces located at the North end of the lot. Crafts & Collectibles: Crafts and Collectibles exhibitors should arrive between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM to unload. Pick up a parking pass at the entrance to History Park. After unloading, drive your auto to the San José city parking lot at the East end of Phelan Ave. You may return to reload your exhibit after 4:00 PM. Please note there is NO alcohol, NO pets (except service dogs), and NO BBQs allowed inside the park. These are Park rules and must be followed.
